2024 Tsinghua Exchange Recap
The Unity Cup, August 12–20, 2026
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Sport is a universal language that transcends nationality and culture. It builds physical strength while deepening communication and mutual understanding among young people. In keeping with this belief, CARHAR promotes sportsmanship and partners with universities and educational institutions on cross-cultural exchange programs designed to cultivate young adults as ambassadors of this shared goal.
This work runs parallel to the spirit of the San Francisco Vision reached by the leaders of China and the United States, which aspires to expand the depth of nonofficial and cultural exchange between the two countries at every level. CARHAR views athletic exchange as a practical, people-to-people channel for advancing that vision.
2024 PROGRAM RECAP: China–U.S. Basketball Summer Exchange
In the summer of 2024, CARHAR held a China-U.S. Basketball Summer Exchange at Tsinghua University. University players from both countries were invited to take part in a program that combined athletic training with cultural immersion.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Joint training sessions bringing together university basketball players from China and the United States.
- Cultural programming, including guided tours of Beijing landmarks and shared meals showcasing Chinese cuisine.
- A closing mixed-team exhibition match held at Tsinghua University’s stadium before an enthusiasticaudience.
The exchange gave participants the chance to build relationships on and off the court, reinforcing CARHAR’s belief that shared athletic experience is a powerful foundation for cross-cultural friendship.
THE 2026 PROGRAM: The A+A Unity Summit
The A+A Unity Summit is a 9-day immersive program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China’s most prestigious universities and Shanghai, running August 12–20, 2026.
The Unity Cup brings together elite student-athletes from leading China and U.S. universities for a week of high-level training, corporate networking, cultural exchange and two charity basketball games.
The mission is simple: connect student-athletes to the world’s best institutions and the leaders who run them. Beyond the basketball, players will have direct access to executives, founders, and investors, and will take part in the Unity Forum, a conference bringing together educators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to discuss the future of education, sports, and AI.
CONCLUSION
The 2024 Tsinghua exchange demonstrated the value of sport as a bridge between cultures and a practical expression of the San Francisco Vision’s call for deeper people-to-people ties. The Unity Cup builds on that foundation: a program that pairs elite athletic development with direct access to global business and educational leadership, and that puts Chinese and American athletes on the same team, on and off the court.
